Looks can be deceiving: when you first walk up to the outside entrance of the White Tea Med Spa, it looks like somewhere you can score some full body work (ahem – happy endings). But once you walk upstairs and into the actual spa, it is chic, serene, and a welcomed escape from the hustle and bustle of NYC. After filling out some preliminary paper work and sipping on white tea (obviously), you will be whisked away to one of the private rooms to change into a plush (and bedazzled) white robe and wait for one of the skilled and knowledgeable team members to begin.
Maria took care of me on my visit to White Tea Med Spa and was very informative throughout the entire process, explaining everything step-by-step. In order to give you a well-rounded review, several different facial procedures were performed. The journey to younger, glowing skin began like a typical facial,- cleanse, steam (a mixture of water and white tea), extract – but got interesting when we moved onto the FotoFacial RF portion. If broken capillaries, rosacea, sun damage, or hyper pigmentation are an issue for you, this is definitely something to look into. The non-invasive rejuvenation treatment uses a laser to literally zap away problem areas and the best part is that the technology they use requires no downtime! The combination of pigment-seeking pulsed light and specific radio frequencies will correct the affected area as well as shrink pores with a very minimal “prick.” Four to six treatments at three week intervals are recommended for the best results.
After the FotoFacial RF treatment, Maria asked me if I was claustrophobic. Hesitantly, I said no, but was a little unsure of what I was about to get myself into! The CelebriTea (Oxygen) Facial requires your entire face to be covered by a dome, but it did not feel too intrusive and I am glad I was able to test it out. It uses three components; Bio-Wand, Bio-Jets, and Bio-Dome to infuse not only your face, but body with oxygen to address fine lines, wrinkles, blemishes, and provide a general sense of well-being. After adjusting to the dome, it was quite relaxing.
Even if you don’t opt for one of the “fancier” services White Tea Med Spa has to offer, it is definitely worth the trip. They use only the highest quality products to ensure you look and feel your best! My one recommendation is that you make sure to get a chocolate mask; it smells positively delish!
